7 digital product ideas you can make this weekend

. 3 min read.

The best first product is something you already do well and get asked about. You don’t need a course or a 100-page book. A small, focused file that saves someone time is enough to start selling.

Seven ideas you can make in a weekend

  1. A template. The Notion dashboard, spreadsheet or Canva layout you use yourself. If people ask “how do you organise that?”, the answer is a product.
  2. A checklist. The steps you follow every time: a launch checklist, a client onboarding list, a pre-shoot list. One page, saved as a PDF.
  3. A swipe file. Prompts, captions, email openers or cold messages that worked for you, organised so someone can copy them today.
  4. Presets and assets. Lightroom presets, LUTs, icon packs, sound effects. Show before-and-after examples on the product page.
  5. A short guide. 10 to 20 pages on one problem, such as “Pricing your first freelance project”, beats a long book nobody finishes.
  6. A recorded workshop. Teach one thing on a call, record it, and sell the video with your slides.
  7. A starter kit. Bundle two or three of the above around one goal, like “Start a newsletter”.

How to choose

  • Pick the idea people already ask you about in comments and DMs.
  • Prefer something you can finish this weekend over something perfect next quarter.
  • Make the result specific: “a content calendar for the next 30 days” rather than “productivity tools”.

Pricing your first product

Price it so it feels like an easy yes for the person you described, and remember you can change it later. Many creators also offer a free product first (see the next article) to learn what their audience responds to.
